Commercial CDs work, why not PC burned CDs?

I'll rephrase my previous question and repopst it with this subject line - Since my home CD player recognizes commercially produced CDs, but not most of my home burned CDs, what are they doing or including that I or my program (EasyCD Creator) am not. My disks have been closed (finalized). Is there a program available that will include or add this missing info to home burned CDs. Thanx, any info that might blead me in the right direction would be appreciated.

Sometimes the brand of media makes a difference, and the speed you burn at.

Try different media, Mitsuko, Mitsui and burn at 2X and see if that makes any difference.

Also, what is it that you are burning? wav files or are you trying to copy a commercial CD to CD-R?

I have the same problem with my Panasonic DVD/CD player. But I actually found a place in the owners' manual that says not to use CDR media in the player! That could be the case with you. The way a commercially produced CD is made is different from how we burn our copies. The commercial ones have a mirror image stamped on the CD. Some of the cheaper players won't play our CDRs.
