Saw a Cobra AW850 Deluxe sound card listed on a PC vendor website for $20

When I checked the specs, it looked good, and considering all the inputs, including RCA and SPDIF.

Anyone tried this out for general use or compared to Audigy 2 ($100)

Any comments ... more info ???? Anything good / bad ?

PS --- I know this card isn't audiophile.

I know a few guys who bought them - needing the digital s/pdif for importing audio from a Roland VS recorder. It's unusual in a cheap card in that the s/pdif will work at 44.1Khz. Most, including the Creative ones, only do 48Khz digital.
However, the analog audio was found to be noisy - not surprising.

If you need ASIO drivers, I have tested ASIO4ALL with a card with the same C-media audio chip as the Cobra and it works well.

One tip, the s/pdif functions are only fully available with the supplied or downloaded C-media driver. Windows will install Microsofts limited generic C-media driver unless you install the C-media PCI drivers BEFORE fitting the card.
