So I was listening to that Kashmir Puff Daddy remake from the Godzilla soundtrack and thought that the drum sound was Awesome! ... but... how do you get that sound?
Well it's a very specific drum sound. It seems like they were trying to imitate the Bonham sound but there's alot about it that's very unique. You can tell there's some overdubbing, on all the tom fills and 2 hi hats going.....
I think the snare and bass drum might be sampled or just looped throughout.
I suppose a better question would be to ask if anybody knows what they used drum-wise on that recording?
And thanks RAMI your post was quite helpful......
maybe next time I'll post on how to play a particular drum fill and you can give me an answer in the vein of ...
"well buy a drum set and then some sticks"
Well listening to it.... everything is tuned in 5th's the toms.... 3-4 of them are tuned D-A-D.... The bass drum is in D .... and i didn;t really pay attention to the snare but i think it's in G....... yeah they did use flange on the cymbals.

Well, next time, ask a less specific question and you'll get an even less specific answer. You only explained what the hell you really meant in your second post. My answer was perfect and much less sarcastic than you deserved.
I have a sample of bonham's snare from houses of the holy. Is it dy'er maker that starts out with the drum fill:
Fluppita puh.. puh... a-ricka-dooka-dutta-puppa
Oh, oh oh oh oh o-oh
YOu don't have to go-oh...
I sampled one of the "puh"s. Not for p-ditty. Just for recording. Play it up a little for some things and lower for others. He got great sounds, though.
