6/8 (or 12/8). It's definitley a tuple meter.

12/8 on all the sheet music I've seen published for the song.

I would actually think so - if it feels like 4/4 with each beat being a set of triplets, then that would suggest 12/8. 6/8 usually implies more of a cut time feel.

First time I answered this, I felt that it was 2 beats to a bar, implying 6/8, but the more I think of it, 4 beats feels just a tad better (12/8). It's a subtle difference anyways, usually just a difference in notation.

....just when I thought that song had been permanently expunged from my memory banks, you had to go and remind me of it! :D

But it's so purty.... :D

I always though

It sounded like a beginner's piano lesson.

Very good Timmy, now we're going to move our hands up the scale...

Yeah, but for some reason we've been getting lots of requests for this song lately.

I saw Chicago in peoria Illinois last week. And they where great.
Good concert

Oh, yeah, I'm a big Chicago fan. I wish I'd seen them last time around.

So, are you a Peoriaite?

I was going to say,

my wife would love to see Fogelberg play in his hometown, but doesn't look like that's going to happen anytime soon. :(

Man, two great shows. I've seen both Chicago (about 5 times) and Fogelberg one time. I went to see Dan here in GR, MI and was looking to get tickets the same day of the concert. As I walked up to the box office, a couple was standing around that area and asked if I needed ticket. I said "Yup" and the said "here you, do enjoy we can't use them and they are yours for free".

That was a great night.

while playing in peoria at second chance (i think that was the name) in 76 i met a chick that claimed to be the one from fogelbergs auld lang syne thing...
was a cool bar or was it chances are??? one was in peoria the other in champaign..

I've seen him about 10 or so times with my wife

and she's seen him a few more on her own. She's even interviewed him a couple of times over the phone, & we did a meet & greet backstage.

She just always wanted to see him in Peoria.

I hope he eventually decides to start playing again.

Thinking about Dan made we head over and check his Website - nothing new in the news department. Crazy about his diagnosis of prostate cancer - I heard about this a couple years ago. I'd like to see him back out there again too.

Sorry to take this tread off course :D
