My english is not very good..I couldn't understand the lyrics very well but..I can say that music of the song is really nice..

This is my first online collaboration. Thinking that the other two collaborators (lyricist and singer/chord writer) may not have the best ears for critiquing.
I did all of the instruments and BU harmonies in chorus.

You don't need a critique man. You need a slap on the back or a high five. That was really cool. Great rambling, shambling backing track and singing - sounds really natural and put together. I would keep working with this team. There are a few mix/playing things but I'll leave it to better qualified folks. Seriously a little cleanup and this is a natural - totally something I would slide onto my iTunes.

Appreciated. One suggestion was the snare hits in the choruses need to be tamed a bit - I can automate EQ to do that easy enough. Another suggestion was to take some of the BU harmonies out, to make them less muddy, I guess that's my 'style' though - there are 7 separate BU tracks, 4 or 5 parts.

Listening as I write...

She has a little pitch problems in the intro, but pulls it together as the song goes on. One trick might be to do a take where the she sings the first after the 2nd verse, when she's fully immersed in the song and can deliver a good performance. Then you just edit it around so the first verse is in the beginning of the song.

Everything seems centered. I hear the drums spread out, but most everything else is on top of each other. This adds to the mud. Give everything its own space; especially the BVG's. Use EQ and pan to move instruments out to the sides or out of the same freq spectrum.

I think there are some timing issues here and there.

I can hear how the song wants to be big during the choruses, but it just isn't coming across that way. I think your arrangement is good, just not quite sure why I'm not getting the full impact. I listened a few times and can't offer up suggestions. Maybe when you open up the stereo field, it'll help to give the chorus more impact.

Good song, though. I see it has a lot of potential. Thanks for sharing.

good work mate. i really like it.
Yer she's a little pitchy at the start but hey i'm not about to start on this given my capability and this is about the mix and arrangement anyways.
The arrangement is great.
I just found the clicking in the right channel a bit annoying in the choruses, maybe a bit of snare side stick might have gone a bit better for me and a bit less of it too. maybe even a ride bell? i dunno
Good work mate nice song too

I think it sounds pretty good. I like the looseness of it for a piece like this. The instruments all gel together pretty well for me. Her voice was well captured.

I see you've gotten some ideas for improvements already, but I'm afraid I have no mix comments as I'm having to listen really softly as the family is right nearby watching TV. I just wanted you to know that I listened and enjoyed the track.

'Clicking in the right channel?' EDITED TO ADD: Oh, good call! That's actually the ride cymbal, but volume was so low it wasn't getting picked up well. I turned up the overheads and it sounded much better, but the snare really got harsh, so EQed that back.
Also did some fixing up of the reverb - somehow the dry slider got pushed up! Stupid fingers. Will get an updated version posted by tomorrow night.

Thanks, everyone for listening and comments, I'm going to try a few things and will post a remix soon. The singer is still undecided about recording a new vocal track.

Hate to say it and worse still hate to use it.
If she doesnt want to redo verse one, i'd mult it and maybe stick an auto tuner on it.
Dont shoot me guys im just a guitar player.

It's her song (at least 1/2, anyway), so her call. I'm just the studio musician(s), arranger/producer/engineer! I will suggest that she do multiple takes and send them to me, though. I don't want to autotune anything.

Ok, I threw ReaPitch into the lead vocal, shoot me. :spank: Not sure it works or not. I may have EQed too much out of the snare in the choruses. Fixed reverb and adjusted panning.

Here it is
