Nice job

I'm not a big fan of instrumentals, so this isn't a song I could fall in love with.

But the effects on the sax are first rate. I also like the way you add instruments to the mix and then take them away. It was used to good effect. Drums sound great as well.

The sax riff gets a little repetitive (hey I gotta knock it somewhere).

Yeah it did TripleM but since all I had to send was a single sax line saxappella as it were, I felt I had to send a basic repetitive line so Sabbath would have a chord center he could clearly hear to write around. If I had ranged too far out there, I was afraid it would been hard for him to hear where the song was. I probably could have been a bit more free than I was, but this was our very first collaboration so we just made it as simple as possible.

Even as we speak, we're deciding how to go about redoing some of the sax lines. It's not as easy as it sounds at first glance, 'cause we don't have the same machines so we're reduced to sending stereo mixes back and forth which, of course, limits the recipient to simply adding tracks. And I don't want to touch Sabbaths' tracks 'cause I like them so much.

We're hoping some computer whiz will take an interest in this and come up with some ideas how to get multi-tracks from one type machine to another. If we could do that, the skies the limit.

Saxappella? Is that anything like sex-appeala? God I love you people.:D

Well, sax players do have saxappeal.....just ask your wives. :D :D :D

If I put one of them there "V" chips in my CD player, will it still play music with sax & violins in it?

This sounds weird. I can't quite grasp this song. I, for one, wouldn't have thought about those kind of guitar parts when only hearing the sax line. You sure have some visions. I'm not sure what kind of song this is, but I'm beginning to dig it. Hey. I know, this song needs one memorable guitar solo somewhere. Not necessarily a shredding solo, but a slow bluesy nice one. The sax melody gets dull after a while, so you should seriously consider some little break in there with another instrumental solo.

I'm visualising this song right now...Yeah, I can see a smoky jazz club, where everybody's drinking tequila, and then these weird men in green plastic suits come along and start jamming this song. Yeah, that's it.

By the way, I hate that little drum part at 0:38. You know, the one that Oasis used on ALL their songs, and after that, everybody used that part. I cringe when I hear that. I guess it's unintentional, and kinda subconcious. It's a good thing it's not everywhere here. :)

You've got those ultimate evil guitars here again. Maybe this song will grow on me more, given the time. Still, not bad at all. At least you're coming up with decent ideas constantly. You take me by surprise every time you put something up.

Cranky One - thanks for checkin' it out.. I didn't think it needed any more stuff until we started getting some feedback.. I guess I was so suprised how it sounded, and didn't want to mess with it too much.... I think I will take the tips here and add some more stuff to it.. Lt. Bob wanted to add some crazy sax solos, and I think I could squeeze another guitar solo in there... I had no idea about anything saxophone, so it was a fun experiment. I didn't even like the sax before this, and now I have a whole new respect for the instrument..... I have another one of Lt. Bob's sax lines that I will mutilate...:D I don't think it will be sax metal this time though..

As far as that drum thing that you hate, I assure you, Oasis was the last thing I was thinking about when playing it...:D That HAS been used in a lot of tunes, but it just kinda came natural.... I thought that was maybe a bit more 'Nirvana-ish'.... :D I tried something different with the guitar, and I'm not entirely happy with the it. I appreciate your feedback, I was hoping you would check this one out... I'll be putting up a new tune in about a week or so and I'm looking forward to hearing what you'll hate about the next one! :D thanks Crank!

Lt. Bob and I both had hoped this would lead to more collaborating around here.... It was a pleasure doing this with him and I hope to do it more....

Hey Cranky, I know were waiting for 'tyrant' to one day get done by my moronic friend, but if you ever want to collaborate on something original, drop me a line...I would be most interested..

Oh, the Tyrant thing :) I almost forgot that. But it's no problem. If the guy isn't available, it's ok. I'm used to these things, when it comes to internet collaborations :) You don't HAVE to get the vocals.

And about collaborating with you, it's definately a good idea. I'm keeping my ears open and notify you, if and when I get some stuff that could use some extra treatment from B.SABBATH :) I'd love to do some stuff with you. I'll get back to you on that.

This was a pleasant surprise! Just very cool concept and recording. Ya both play real well too. Could it be the birth of a new group? Love this thing!

W.I.S.C. - In the words of monty................you sir, are a homo! :D

Have you guys ever heard of a group called "Morphine" ?

Good work guys,
Take it easy,

DavidK - thanks..... Of the few people here I would really really like to collaborate with, you are high on that list.. If your ever interested, I think we could make a tune that would wipe the smile off anyones face... I have many tunes with fake violin and cello... I would love to have a song with the real thing..... I am considering purchasing a violin or cello... if this interests you, drop me a p.m. or email.... samicide@hotmail.com If not, thanks for checkin' it out...

joro - thanks man... Lt. Bob made this pretty easy for me... I have never heard of ' Morphine'.... I guess that's a saxophone hard rock band?? I'll look for them......thanks:cool:

Lt. Bob - I am experiencing some technical difficulties at home, but I have been messing around with some stuff...:D I will be in touch soon...

thanks again everyone who bothered to checked it out! I'd be interested in hearing other collaborations....... I hope some more happen....
I know Lt. Bob and I have another one cookin'..:D

Hey David K. ......Sax and violins....has a ring to it doesn't it? Lets do something with the three of us. I'm pondering right now how to go about that. I could send you (or you send me) a track and when you add a track to it, we could send it to Sabbath with the violin on one side and the sax on the other, that would leave Sabbath free to dump them to his recorder and do what he wished with them. Or alternatively we could get rhythym tracks from him and add our stuff. What kind of recording gear you use? That could affect how we choose to do it. Jeez...there needs to be a collaboration forum here. Does anyone know how to lobby for a new forum? Com'n people....join in. We can turn this site into a 13,000 piece band. :D :D :D

Lt. Bob. I was listening to a track of mine on the way to my gig and suddenly thought that you would sound awesome playing on it. So I decided to write and see if you would be into adding your expert sax to a track. If so, I'd be happy to reciprocate with some guitar on something of yours.

Yes, we need that collaboration forum. I could send you either a wav, aiff sound designerII or mp3 file, and you could send me back any of those of just the track you add. The biggest hurdle for me would be internet file size. My provider just knocked down e-mail files to 2 meg, which sux. I might have to FTP somehow or send a CD.

Anyway, let me know if you are interested. Could be fun!

Crawdad, that would be great! Check your private messages and we'll get together to figure out the best way to do it. :)
