I see deaf people
would be impossible for an amateur like me

anyway here's a new track Im working on...in the style of older Orbital stuff I think, though its a bit harsher and has a little TB303 style thrown in just to date it even more

started a project with Industrial Okie (when I can find him) and this would be one of the instrumental tracks...it sounded pretty harsh on the first mix, so I tried to smooth it out last night, I think the low end is getting there but it may still be harsh in the upper mids??

Its called "Solitary"

any listens and comments will be rewarded by satan :)

Dude.... Less than a minute in, I forgot I was listening to a track that wasn't produced in a multi-million dollar studio. I *love* the groove of this beast.

I got helplessly sucked into the groove, and thereby all critical thought was rendered useless, so I can't comment on the mix ... even though I've listened to this at least 10 times now.

This one is going into the "Trance" list for sure. Don't you dare change anything. Keep the music comin, Keith. A-flippin'-mazing, man.

wow, thanks bud!

Its nearly all hardware apart from Absynth 5 and I used maschine alongside an R70 for the beat...I think it makes a difference on the sound quality

I really enjoyed making it, it reminds me of stuff I used to like without sounding as dated as the tracks I used to produce a few years ago

Im using acustica nebula 3 pro too...look into it, its an interesting concept where they use 3d party libraries of sampled kernels from real analog desks..dynamics, EQ's, pan, tape etc...then you render each track through them...not 100% sure but I think it improves the overall quality

thanks for listening and the cool comments :)

Doesn't sound harsh to me kc.
Sound really good.
Lots happening but not overcrowded.
Enjoyed.

I like it and I think it sounds great.

My daughter, whom I always bring up just because she's heard all your tunes, didn't really care for this one, but I take that to be a good thing as she frankly has really bad taste and you don't want to cater to middle schoolers anyway.

This newer stuff is less bombastic and on the surface has less variation, but there're a lot of subtle layers that are fun to uncover through repeated listenings. It sounds really well produced on my little PC set-up. I have no mix suggestions for you I'm afraid. Do I still get my satanic reward?

Thanks Ray :)

I think i might stick in this theme for a while..really excited to be working with a vocalist on a track, plus ive been plating guitar and bass on it..sounds like goths with synths!

Phew..your daughter was freaking me out!

Yeah kinda symplistic structure..i just play what i think sounds good then layer it as much as i think it needs...im never sure if it works or just sounds like a five min sketch...this one i liked, but my ears are getting worse.l.this was sooo harsh at first, almost all highs just to pearce my ever blocked lugs :(

Satan asks only for comments, and comment thou hath given!

I hate Michael McDonald and Kate Bush so I'm glad this is not a collab. Love the textures and the way things move from one part to another. Just another excellent piece !

This was good! I have no critiques.

Good news!

Well I had to forwards it to about a minute in to get to the meat and potatoes of the song. Just not a big fan of intros longer than 20 seconds lol. Other than that it's cool, if I was really high I would really dig it, but unfortunately I quit doing drugs over 10 years ago. So, I'll try it again when I'm drunk and see how it goes from there :p

Thats not the intro! ;)

Thanks for listening Phil...dunno about drunk, dunno if EDM works drunk, but im willing to give it a shot too!

Are you sure this isn't a collab? I hear some Michael McDonald in there, as well as a little Peter Cetera and Dave Matthews. Just kidding. :D
Seriously I don't know how you fit so much weird shit in there and still have so much space in the mix. It's the type of thing you could listen to over and over again and keep noticing new details... Nice job!

Cool tune. Well put together. I like the groove that kicks in just before the 1 minute mark.

Is that kick drum a little too loud? Seems like it to me.

No other nits. good job.

So, who is Micahel McDonald anyway?

Is he that guy who's music is constantly playing on all the TVs at the electronics store in The 40 year Old Virgin??

I have no idea who Michael McDonald or Kate Bush is, so the joke is lost on me. :(

Sounds really good dude. Your mixes are always clean now and from a general critique standpoint, I think you've outgrown us. For me, I think I'd need to be more familiar with this type of music to be able to say something is "off" or whatever. Nothing jumps out as "whoa that's bad" anymore, so I just sit back and listen. To an aging punk rocker like me, it sounds just fine and really balanced. Well done again.

And every once in a while, you unleash something that really brings me back to my younger days of scamming on vulnerable goth chicks in dance clubs. This is one of them. What the fuck year is it anyway? Where's my creepers?

yeah im sure you and heat never heard of the doobie brothers lol
