"home (w-)rec(kin)'g" lol...

Anywhose, I'm doing a home studio project... like everybody else in this forum, DUHH!

Virtual sidemen and sessionistas are the way to go for me, since I'm without wheels right now.

Like about 90% of American musicians, I'm as broke as a joke. Can't afford to pay for the big guns, so I'm going all Blanche DuBois and "depending on the kindness of strangers".

Anyone want to help out, PM with an email address. I'm looking for live drums, keyboards, percussion (congas/timbales/bells and shakers/tambourines, etc) and horns (either soloists or sections; 1st and 2nd trumpets, alto/tenor/bari sax, bones). Recording tracks now of bass, guitars, looped drums for click track, and starter keys.

My musical direction on this album project is mid-70's R&B, horn driven bluesy funk. Tower of Power and EW&F eating barbecue in the backyard with the JB's, and BB King came by for a plate of food.

I hope you know you are preaching here to all the other broke musicians, to raise money this way you need to approch the public. LOL

:eatpopcorn:

Please understand... I'm asking for other poor, broke musicians to play on my recordings.

No, when the music's done, I'll credit you on the hard copies and metadata.

You *might* have more luck if you posted links to the tunes you want people to add to so that they have an idea of what yoru music is.

I'm recording the basic tracks right now; I'll post them when I have everything in place.

I'm not poor or broke. Guess that rules me out then... :(

I play drums in a 70's soul and RnB band. I'll take a crack at laying some tracks for you. I use a pair of SM94's overhead and an SM58 on the snare and one on the kick, It works pretty well. I have just started recording on Garageband on my laptop, but i think I have gotten a pretty good sound. You may have to walk me through getting your tracks to me and me getting mine back to you. I'm a noob...

Still working on basics; I'll post them when I get a decent take on vocals.
