Close to You
©2002 Joe Rogier

Verse 1

Long hard days, lead into nights
Lead into weeks, no end in sight
But, what chance is there
I know, some day we’ll share
Share again in each other

Chorus

And when I’m here
And while you’re there
I often think
Of the times we’ve shared
The good times, and the bad times too
Wanting only, to be close to you
Close to you, close to you,
I want to be close to you

Verse 2

Three thousand miles to find a job
I gotta admit, it hits me hard
That you are so far from me
Life used to be a joy, you see
Since our well ran dry
I barely keep from crying
I just want to be close to you

Chorus

And when I’m here
And while you’re there
I often think
Of the times we’ve shared
The good times, and the bad times too
Wanting only, to be close to you
Close to you, close to you,
I want to be close to you

Verse 3

Everyday, I punch that clock
Fire up the machines, too loud to hear anyone talk
Work the weekends and the holidays
Trying to pump up my meager pay
And as always, in my mind I say
I want to be close to you

Chorus

And when I’m here
And while you’re there
I often think
Of the times we’ve shared
The good times, and the bad times too
Wanting only, to be close to you
Close to you, close to you,
I want to be close to you

How sweet Joro....you made me cry(doesn't take much today)

Ouch. I know that feeling. You portrayed it very well.

Good words. It moves through a bit of a story and I know why "you" are far away from each other.

Well done. I'd like to hear it if (when) you have it recorded.

Take care,
Chris

Nice lyric. How'd you get that copyright symbol?

badgas,

ooooooo doggies, thanks. My wife said "why don't you use the extended character map" but it imports jibberish. Now I'm in tall cotton. © © © © © © © © © © © © © © © ©

Thanks everyone!

Thank you all very much for the Kudos...
There will be a few changes but, basically this will reman the same and, yes......
this will be recorded and I will post it when it is complete.
P.S. I just press and hold the "ALT" key and type 0169...
this creates the © symbol without loading a new font...
just FYI.:D

Joro,
I'm using Win98, Word, PerfectWorks, Notepad, FloppyPad, and a few others. It doesn't work in there, nor here.
What system you on?

Windows ME

Hey BadGas

Windows ME...are ya using the mumber pad?
ya have to use the number pad on the right side of your keyboard or, it will not work...
Give it a try...

Word tells me it's Alt + 0211 and something else but I get other symbols. 0169 on the number pad works fine though. ©

Now I can't remember the security code for the alarm system on the house.

Damn!

I remember that song...
Damn!
Double Damn!!

what to do?

Anybody ?

How's about "Closer to you"???
Is that taken???
I better go do a search.....
DAMN IT ALL!!!!!

Nice Lyrics,

Your guys crack me up. The guy pours his heart out in a song and you ask about his ©

PS. Since these posts are read by a browser, you can use HTML Tags to make symbols too:

Like the way I made the one above or : ® or µ or ¶ or ™

But anyway sine this isn't a HTML forum, I will stop.
But if you are wondering, the code for the © looks like this (without the spaces, smoosh it all together) & # 1 6 9 ;

Hi Fangar

I'm glad you liked the lyric.

The musical/recording production is almost done and it will be in the Clinic pretty soon.

This song was inspired by a couple of HR members.....
Also, I think I will change the name to "Three Thousand Miles"

I wonder if anyone has used that one....ya know?

Hi giaschel

No.....it don't count!:D

How is the "night life" on St.Catherine's Street?

When I was much younger,
I traveled to Montreal once a week to party.....

Very cool town ya live in.
Clean too....
Beautiful Women up there....
I miss those days.

Night ife is still going strong. Although Ste-Catherine is mostly filled up with people from out of town :D

St-Laurent street and the Plateau Mont-Royal are the hip spots to hang out.

Women here are still among the most beautiful human beings by far! It's all in the attitude...
