Clipping?

Hey guys I have just started recording some guitar riffs trying to get some ideas down. Well I finally recorded to a click track with the hopes of starting to put some midi drums down to it. I ran a mic'd i-5 straight into my digi 002 rack. I should say it was never clipping and I made sure that it wasn't a real hot signal just to make sure. So everything sounded good. I was very happy with the amp sound, and the sound coming out of pro tools. However, when I bounced to disk so that I could send a .wav file to my friend, it sounded awful. I then eq'd all four guitar tracks and took a lot of the low end out and it helped but when I palm muted it still gave an almost bounce sounding sound (if that makes sense). So my question is, what the hell am i doing wrong? The amp also did not have a very high bass settin either. So any suggestions would help. Thanks guys.

That reminds, would the easiest way be to just set up a purevolume account or something similar so i can post it easy. No clue when it comes to putting stuff on internet.

Ok I feel kind of dumb saying this but I think I realized what it was. I was constantly checking them on my computer speakers to make sure they were translating well. So I loaded it up onto my personnel computer and what do you know, it sounds fine. I think the speakers are shot and I just never realized it because I only listen to them on stuff I record. So I always thought it was part of my mix. But anyways, tomm a short little clip will be up so I'm still open to suggestions to bump the loudness up a little and give it a little more punch. I must say I found this quite annoying and humourous at the same time.
