Ok I know this is stupid but still....

When I'm recording, on Acid, I like recording with the levels as high as possible without clipping. I run all my sources through a mixer then into the computer.

Should I continue to get the signal as loud as possible or let the level stay in the high green?

Everytime I record on acid I end up with 23 minutes worth of Iron Butterfly souding stuff!! :D Just kidding. Keep the signal as loud as possible without clipping at all stages of recording.

hey tell you what i do. start off by not listening to that guy. if you want to do loud recordings you dont want it to clip here and there. you want to have pure signals. SO try to keep the levels smoothed out a little bit for texture.

ALSO? acid is a simple program so dont lose your confidence. just you are beginning. i one time had the same feelings about it WHATEVER

Excellent advice, whatever it is you are saying.

What I should have said in my previous post is at no point in your process should your peaks clip. In other words, I like to get the peaks as hot as possible without clipping. I hope that meets Lil Kims approval though, you may want to run it by her.
