Clicking when recording????

Hello, I downloaded the N-Track Demo, and I get a clicking noise only on N-Track everytime I try to record audio.

The clicking co-insides with N-Track accessing the Hard drive. I don't know if it's the HD light that is causing the problem or the actual access of the HD.
Has anyone encountered this? Other tools like Audacity, and other Demos do not have this problem.

I have never used the program. But if its a demo that might be why its clicking. That might be its way of limiting what all you can do.
 
One of those two. If I go home in the next week I will PM you the link to a better piece of software which is available free if you register by the end of December.
 
That was the one ... got warned on another forum for handing out that link which is why I was going PM only!!!

I'll check that software out. Perhaps it's the demo who knows, but it would not be a very good selling point for anyone to buy if it were part of the demo. It sounded like clipping, but I noticed that the clicking was exactly at the same time as my HD was accessed (or the access light turned on).
I wasn't sure if it was the software of my HD access LED causing the problem.
Anyway, I'll check this other software out. I didn't really like the lay out of N-Track. Just trying everything out, and see what works best for me.

Hey I just realized, I already have that Demo. I'll look at it again, but I didn't think I liked it or rather that it did not seem user friendly.
 
Tracktion is a very different user interface. If you can learn it, the software is good. I'm working my way through the learning curve at the moment!!!!!

trackion is no better then n track check your sound card settings, and make shure the metronome is off...
 
I prefer it, but it's all down to choice. Given that Tracktion is free right now it's a no-brainer IMO!

It is not the metronome. I tested and it's something else. I don't know what is going on, and perhaps its the demo thing. However, every time I'm recording the N-Track accesses my HD, and it causes clipping. I've moved the Buffer setting all the way down, and then all the way up. It still does it, and it just strange. Maybe, it's the HD itself. I'll have to test in saving to my other HD and see if it does the same.
So far, I don't have one Audio Software which is my favorite. I have not tested Cubase cause I can't seem to find a demo download for it anywhere at their website.
 
You can find a full copy anywhere you like on the internet ... but make damn sure you pay for it if you keep it :mad:

Cubasis is a good option as the cheaper version of Cubase, the Cakewalk software always looks like a good option too. I'm going all out from Friday on learning Tracktion because I plain can't afford anything better unless I go for N-Track.

have you updated your soundcard drivers, this has worke in the past....
 
Make sure DMA is enabled on your hard drive. And, if possible, use a second hard drive for the working directory of n-Track.
Also , making certain you have updated drivers is a good idea as well.
Not just soundcard drivers but video card and mobo chipset drivers also.

I downloaded the new drivers the first time I installed the Delta 44. So, the short answer is yes! However, that still does not explain the clipping or ticking or whatever the hell. It also does not explain why N-Track seems to want to access my HD every second, and the fact that the noise co-insides with the access of my HD (or at least the LED that shows the access to the HD).
I haven't given it a try in a while, but I'm not married to N-Track so that's okay!
 
After a couple of weeks to play with it, Tracktion is now one of my favourite inventions ever. I may well pay for the new version in fact. I like that these cheaper ones are around now, much better than shelling out hundreds for Cubase or ProTools LE and finding you don't like the interface.
