Hi anyone,

this is my first post so apologies if this has been mentioned before. I am using a Tascam 424MKll and when bouncing down the sound quality is reduced dramatically. Is this normal?

Also..

I had the idea of bouncing a mix into wavelab on the PC and the recording it back into the Tascam. However when recording into the PC a clicking noise occurs every so often. The noise is not heard upon recording, only when playing back. I know the signal from the tascam to the computer was not clipping. Anyone any ideas...

The soundcard I use is terratec DMX 6 Fire 24/96.

You'll definitely lose audio quality when bouncing to another track. Nothing you can do about that. I had a 424MKII for a couple of years before I went straight DAW and really enjoyed it. It's a good learning tool.

Not really sure about the clicks unless your computer is doing something in the background (like checking the CD drive for a disk) during playback. Make sure you have screensaver and anything else you can find (and don't need) that is running in the background turned off.
