When I was recording i had playback coming through another card. My PC didn't like me recording on my Edirol and listening to playback on the Creative. Buy an adapter and try running your speakers through the Delta.. trust me, it will be worth it!

Just some input on this...I have the same problem and it is most disturbing and I can tell that this problem does not happen all time...I am using only one sound card, M-Audio Audiophile 2496

When I run into this clicking issue, and there is no telling when it going to start, it only occurs during the track when I play my keyboard or record a vocal, anotherwords when I am actually sending input, if I do not play there is no clicking on the track even if I am recording until I hit a note...

What I have been doing is when I run into the problem is open a new project if I don't have other tracks recorded or record on a different track and it seems that the clicking stops...

It is funny because if I go back to the track that the clicking was on and try to record on the track the clicking or static sound is there again when I hit notes...

Now this is not a fix, but a workaround for me...I will be watching to see if there is any additional advice here that can help me resolve this problem as well...

It sounds like you need to increase your buffer/latency. When you record with other things player, it can't process all that quick enough. I'm sure some delay would help.

I just tried 2 sound cards and it did the same thing.

I tried onboard sound + delta and Live + delta.

If you can, just try the one...

As I said, make sure your output is set to the Delta, get the jacks to connect your speakers to it and run all of you recording through the one card... make sure in SONAR you don't have the Sound Blaster selected ANYWHERE then try to record and see how you go.

Try this:

1) set the delta's buffer to max (for me, 2688)
2) delete Sonar2 / aud.ini and ttsseq.ini
3) restart Sonar (it'll re-detect drivers)
4) reconfig your midi and audio options

Travis

Also, try:

1) set sync to Audio
2) disable all audio drivers except delta 1/2 (or whatever you actually use)
3) set playback and recording timing masters to the delta
4) install the Via 4-in-1 drivers (if you have a Via chip)

Travis

Well, I made some progress today. I tried disabling all outputs and inputs except for the delta. Recorded something, restarted sonar with my SB outputs selected, and it played the sound fine. So there must be some crazy conflict with the delta and the SB, or my onboard sound. Now to get the two sound cards working.......

I would buy a cheap pair of monitors just to get it working, but I have no job currently so that is out of the question.

To whoever asked about VIA, I have an nforce 2 motherboard. No via chipset.

strat0tele,

Forget about getting both cards working together.. just try and get the right adapters so that you can hear the output of the Delta through your current monitors/speakers. Trust me, I tried and I failed..

Would I be able to use y-adapters to plug my crummy speakers into the delta and SB?

Please, I need a response quickly, i want to get the correct adapters if I can today.

I'm sorry, I can't tell you which exact cables to buy.

Here's what I do with similar problems:
1) Remember the connection for the speakers (stereo minijack ?)
2) Remember the connection on the Delta (mono jacks ?)
3) Go to a store with lots of cables and mix n' match. Ask the store for help.

Well I figured out what I need, went to radio shack. and ofcourse I GOT THE WRONG ONE. I left without even thinking.

I got a 1/8 stereo to 2 1/8 stereo. Thats the right one.

But then I also got a 1/8 male to 2 rca male. I need 1/8 female to 2 rca male. =P

By the end of tonight, MY PROBLEM WILL BE SOLVED!! Thank you for all the help you tried to give me guys.

Will you leave us alone, then? :D :D :D

=( I figured you guys would like to know, or this could be valuable info for anyone who has had a similar problem? I said thank you.

*sniffles* you make me cry *sniffles*

Edit: got the right adapter, and now it works like a charm. To think $15 would have solved my problems in the first place, I wouldn't have spent hours upon hours messing around with my computer. And now I can have zero latency monitoring WOOWOO!!!
