Okay, I want to use a click track, but not n-Track's, because it's really quite terrible. How should I go about making my own, at the least possible cost?

Have you considered making a simple drum beat?

You can do it using n-tracks built in midi drum sampler

I could do that, except I know less than nothing about midi. What would be the absolute basics I need to know to set something up like that?

Should be in the manual. It's available at the n-track website.

It's actually very easy to do (I don't use midi much either)

Terrible? haha.. i bet you're not using it right. I know lots of people use N's built-in metronome with no trouble.

But there are lots of ways to create a click.. record a metronome? use Fruity Loops or some other drum sequencer (AudioMinds has a link to a freebie)? a cheapie drum machine? record your own handclaps?

EDIT:
I think Audacity has a click track generator. You can get Audacity free (link at AudioMinds).
