I'm going to be recording my band soon, and I'd like to know how to set up the click track to deal with tempo changes. Is there a way to make a midi file of the click track and import it into Cubase SX3, and then have the metronome in Cubase sync up with it? Any advice whatsoever would be greatly appreciated
 
You need to set up a tempo track. That is what will allow you to change tempos.

You can import a midi file and have cubase follow the tempo changes, but i can't remember how off the top of my head. It might be as easy as just importing the midi track.
 
YOu know where you add audio, group and effects tracks? You will find another option, 'tempo'. Add that track and set it up for the changes you want.

All of this is in the manual. Look up 'tempo track' and it will tell you everything you need to know.
