I don't know whether the blame can be laid on Cakewalk for this, but I am finding that the click track is all over the place time-wise, to the point where its unuseable. I am using a non-midi card (Echo Mia) for pure audio recording. I have never used midi so don't know if it is any different, but when there is no midi card Cakewalk seems to output a click to the soundcard as audio - but not very well so it seems. Is it a processor power or computer clock thing by any chance?

Doesn't seem to change if I am recording the first track of a project or overdubbing.

Cakewalk (even newer version) don't use audio metronome by default. So, unless you use click track (or insert PingDXi), you shouldn't hear any click of metronome. However, you probably want to check if you turn on metronome using PC speaker. Just turn it off. I don't remember in Cake 9 Pro, probably in Options --> Global or Options -->Project... just find it, and un-check the PC speaker click...

I have trouble with CWv9's midi click track too. I now convert it to an audio track first. No problems there.
