hey,

Just picked up a Marshall Shred Master for $12! the volume pot is a little scratchy though, does anyone know if cleaning it will fix this? Also, what is a good electrical cleaner/lubricant?

Most probably yes.
You can pick up some tuner cleaner at Rat Shack.

Before you spray anything on the pot, just crank the pot clockwise/counterclockwise a few dozen times to clean off the oxidation and grime. Cahnces are good that this will fix the scratchyness without spending a cent.

Some pots are sealed. If that's teh case, then you'll have to just use the twist method. If it's an open pot, then squirt some cleaner in there and twist it back and forth for 15 times or so. You can get some at your local electronics supply store. My guitar has teh same problem.

Cleaning pots

Hey Dude, to clean your pots don't just use any contact cleaner, some will do more damage than good. I use a cleaner call PreservIT P5, its made by Caig labortories. It is designed to be used on pots and faders and the like. it works real well and if they are in real bad shape they have a 100% lubricant spray also. the P5 is a cleaner with 5% lude in it. wiping the pots like other have said won't hurt either, but most noisy pots are caused by the lubricant in the pot drying out over time. Hope this will help you. you should be able to find this at any major electronics supply or on the net. if have any questions dope me a line I will be glad to help..............Chris
