Cleaning DJ Mixer Channels? Wiring around the Kaos Pad?

I picked up a 4 channel Numark EM-460 for $20 at a Garage Sale. Not a bad piece of equipment, but not very well maintained. There is noise on some of the channels, quite a bit of electrical hum, and the worst part is the completely dysfunctional kaos pad that processes the signal unrepentantly. God I hate, with it's smashed buttons that make it impossible to turn off and nasty digital noise that lingers when any audio source feeding into a channel is killed.

Here are my questions:

What can I do to remove the noise?

What would be the easiest way to wire the signal around the Kaos pad? The fx mix knobs are f*cked as well, so I guess I would clean those the same way I would clean the channel noise?

Help! I'd like to save this baby with a little elbow grass and head-scratching. Your head, I mean.

I'd just consider it a $20.00 lesson in used equipment purchasing... you win some, you lose some
