Hi all

Thinking of buying a Pv classic 30 for smaller gigs, it's on for 1/2 price, just wondering what people have had for experience recording this amp

Great sounding amp. However, it doesn't really sound like a Fender despite it's cosmetics. You should get out and try one.

Trying a Fender

Already own a Fender 75, good clean tone, awefull distortion, also weighs a ton. I've also tried the Fender deluxe, I found the same issues with it, though not as bad. It's just this one is going for $350 brand new and I can work it off as I am a repair tech at the music store

I own a Classic 30 and they're not too bad. I found it ample for small to medium gigs when I was playing. I haven't recorded with it yet so can't comment there sorry but a good amp I reckon. You can't go wrong at that price !

I have the Delta Blues amp, it has the same preamp & power amp section as the Classic 30, with a tremolo circuit and a 15" full range speaker. I recorded with it a few months back and liked the results quite a lot-I found that you get a better sound though if you don't use the boost on the amp. There is a way better distortion and clean tone just by adjusting the preamp and power amp settings.

I also have the Classic 20-15 watts and a 10" spkr-long discontinued-and it is a super amp for home recording situations.

I would say go for the Classic 30, you will love it.

Thanks

Thanks for the input guys, gonna buy it and sell my fender, I can probably sell it for the price of a new amp. Just can't pass up a decent tube amp that's that cheap

Damn, did I get blanked? I thought I posted earlier but did mention something about a sale but I did preface it with a huge disclaimer. Oh well. Anyhow, the classic 30 records well give proper mic technique. Rather dark with standard speaker. LIKe mine.
