Ah Good morning friends, hope you're all enjoying your coffee as much as me,

After starting work in a studio I've been working with a lot of outbound gear and his style is very MIDI-Centric and he uses 4 sound modules, a Soltan ms-40 (i think) an SR-16 and two kurzweil micro piano's along with EZDrummer, ivory 1 and Trilian bass. I'm slowly falling in love with it but have realized that to date I'm only really using one or two midi channels per project max, normally EZDrummer and some light pads off my keyboard and try and use as many real instruments as I can. This is starting to get into my normal work patern and I'm missing it, so I'm thinking of getting a nice little sound module for Christmas, This is where my question begins.

I'm looking for a nice midi controlled stereo sound module with reasonably good sounding instruments, I'd really like to have good solo brass instrument sounds and a good bass guitar sound, drums aren't my main concern, as I use EZDrummer as well and have 2 EZX's Vintage and Latin Perc. and I'm thinking of starting to write my own backing tracks (something I swore I'd never use but Its getting to the stage where gigs without are rare so I need to start) as long as I got decent quality backing instruments I'd be happy as I'll use real guitar vocals and in some cases bass and EZDrummer for drums.

Oh my budget is around €250-300 TOPS The Kurzweil ME-1 sorta caught my eye but I've never used it, any ideas folks? all input would be brilliant,

For the price range you're in you're probably looking second hand on ebay. You could get a motif rack or something to that effect or an old emu or maybe a Roland sonic cell but you'll have to pay a little more.
