AWESOME JOB!! I'm hearing a little of Joe Cocker's version of "With a Little Help From My Friends".

I can only learn from this one. So.... some questions ....

Can you describe your lead guitar set-up? Guitar? Amp? Effects? [edit]. Never mind, I see you posted that answer already.

Are the drums "real", "looped" or MIDI?

Is that you on pedal steel? [edit] see my edit above.

Again, great job.

Nice job Crawdad...I was gonna cover one of yours, but now you've made me rethink that, since this just kills, and mine would be pale in comparison!

Really impressive!

now if we could just do something about that voice.....

UH HUH ..LMAO.....nice all the way around...:D:D..

oh yeah and my computer has been down for the last few days..so my submission will be a tad late.......

Good God man that was freaking excellent. This has to go to the keepers folder. Amazing. I'll have to listen to Chris' version now too. Great work.

You guys are giving me a complex. This stuff sounds great. Somedays you guys inspire me with the stuff you post, others you make me want to throw in the towel. But since I'm not a quitter, I'll keep plugging away.

Yes, this subject sounds interesting, indeed.

Are you a moron or what? This is about the 6th thread in a row on many different forums that I have seen this stupid response. I suppose it could be considered a crosspost :p

Jag, it's a spambot. It auto posts that messege in every forum here then starts threads in all the forums with a link to said spam.

What?!?!?!?! Can it DO THAT??? I mean, I feel like the freakin' BORG have arrived.

Not here, not here

You gotta' admit, though...the spambot has good taste, lol.

HEY "XGML," if that IS your REAL name, you need to empty your PM box. And dammit, I've sent you about 50 of them, do you EVER check them?????

Great slide guitar. Really good tone and playing. Vocal was super as always. I really liked this version. Does remind me of "Tuesday's Gone With The Wind".

Someone said your drum sound was improved... and I agree!

I didn't listen with headphones .... so the panning wasn't really an issue to me.

Nicely written by Chris.... and nicely covered.

Great singing. The slide guitar is killer, but I guess you know that by now :) slinking around the chorus, and those bell like notes through the first chorius were very special.

I could have heard the first lead guitar a little louder at the start.

I've listened to this several times over the past few days in the car, etc... so I've gotten into the "deep" critiqueing phase now.

I agree about that first lead. I know it's not supposed to be dominant, but it washes out in the car. Also, is there anyway you could post another MP3 at a higher bitrate? The reason I'm asking is b/c the one I have has a couple of POPS in it...I downloaded it twice, and they're there...the first one's about one second into the song. There's another one somewhere.

That's it. I've listened a ton, and those are the only problems I was able to come up with. Oh, and the Kick sounds really really really good. Can you mp3 that and upload it so I can use it on every song I record from now on? Well, at least half of them; Participant had one that I love too, and I've got it on the hard drive.

Buh bye, and thanks a ton for doing this tune, Al.

Hey Chris--I put up a 192 version for you. I have not addressed the lead at the start, but now that its been pointed out, I think it could come up a little bit too. i don't know what caused that pop, since its not on the original file. I guess we have to expect a glitch here and there with all this online file transfer. I haven't remixed yet. Its gonna be a bit of a nightmare to do it, but I will get around to it. I have so much going on right now between songs, gigs, other paying studio projects, etc--that it may be a while.

Supposed to Do hi bit

The drums, except the snare, are the Blue Jay large ambient kit from Sonic Implants. Thanks to Erichenryus for that tip!

Hey, whats this spam doing in MY THREAD!? :D

Seriously, I'd like to take just a moment of your time to talk about Amway. No? Well, Shaklee then? Scientology? Stem cell research? Hari Krishna? :D

so, you took this song, you went with it to a studio, spend the last few weeks there(while your clone was makin the daily stuff like going to work or posting on "hr") and then comming back with it to show people like me how much they suck.........................aaarrrrgggghhh

it's a great mix&cover man!!
cheers

Finally got the time to listen! Usually don't like this type of music but errrrrrrr......

You friggin' bastard! :D

Don't know what to say....

I hate you, Crawdad!

"Chrisharris Cover, Thrashed by Me"

Oh, yeah? You should thrash more often. This is inspiring. I reckoned you'd do one of Chris's songs well - you're both in the same quadrant - but god damn, man, this is good! I'd pay money and put in time to play pedal steel like that, and I'd submit to guidance to come up with one of those Derek and the Dominoes intros you threw together. Makes me proud I like country. Damn, that pedal steel just soars in places... itty bitty tears in my eyes...

Okay, mofo, if I do some country flavored stuff, will you do a cover of one of mine? Goddamn...

Elegant hurt. I bet Chris is so proud.

Oh, yeah boost the vocal .8 dB. 1.3 dB if you're feeling wild. LOL
