Don't stare at the eye.
Saw Chicago & The Doobie Brothers last night at the local amphitheater. Been so busy lately that I forgot we even had tickets--so it wasn't even on my radar. In other words, I had no expectations.

In short I was blown away. I love to see the "old guys" (i.e. like, just a bit older than me) bring it like that. Couldn't tell you who was better--they were both stellar. I probably liked the Doobies a bit more, but that's more personal preference--both bands were top notch.

Best of all--both bands came out on stage together and did a six song "encore" set, alternating between each others songs (but all playing together) 3 more Doobie's tunes, 3 more Chicago tunes.

Yep. The old guys rock.

I didn't know they were touring together. Chicago and the Beach Boys toured together for quite some time many years ago. I hear that was a great match up. I have a back stage pass around here somewhere for the Doobie Brothers "Farewell Tour" that I went to some years ago. So much for that idea. ;)

A year or so ago.. I worked a Doobie concert here in N.H. at a shed venue and it was fabulous.

But the great thing about it was the first concert I every worked was a Doobie show way back in 1975 at the Greensboro coliseum in North Carolina and then to do this one kinda made it a full circle of - a life on the road.

Man.... where did the time go? It seems like only yesterday.
And I'm still 25 years old in my mind and in my dreams at night. ;)
