Glad you like the song dynis. You should have heard the recorders on the original (I had to remove the file because of space) when I checked with the tuner they where a whole semitone or so out. I also found with the high recorder (descant) that the higher notes with just the left hand were a semitone out, but the lower notes using the right hand where more or less at the correct pitch. Anyway...

No one has commented on the thunder and rain at the start... I did that myself (as in I recorded it in a real thunder storm, I didn't make the thunder, I'm not god or anything). I'll have to see if I can get the wavs off the VS.

Thanks for the ocmments.

Wow toad, I just figure you pulled it off of Freesound or something. Very cool you sampled it yourself. :)

Oh wow. Yeah, I thought the thunder and rain sounded good, but I also thought it was a sample from somewhere else so I didn't comment on it. That's pretty awesome that you recorded it.

Glad you liked the thunder. I'e loaded another version, it's not a remix, I've just played around with some EQ. It's done in headphones so I don't know how it'll translate. I noticed that my mixes sound dull compared to most of the stuff I hear here. I know it's trying to fix something that should have been done in the mix, but I thought I'd give it a try.View attachment CIFTRII EQ.mp3

A little tweaking will work wonders as the song is pretty solid.

Cool song - def has an early 70's feel about it.
Recorder, as you've discovered, is a tricky thing to track - a bit like piano - easy to play impossible to play well.
You do need something to bridge the two parts even something simple like a heavily reverbed/delayed recorder note that blends with a feedback gtr note that builds into a chord. EVEN a la la la of the melody would do.
The drums sound like drums recorded in a shed, you're right. If you could pull them into a computer & apply some individual compression & reverb/EQ things'd be better but given the circumstances I'd be more than happy with the whole shebang.
Cool song!

Thanks RayC. It's an old song I'm using to practice drumming, recording and mixing. I wasn't really expecting people to think it was a good song, so thanks very much for that. I'm wanting to move on to something new really but if I manage to get a set of WAVs out of my VS I would like to take jimmy up on is offer to remix this one. Originally we had a drum solo between the two parts, it was a bizzare thing to do.

And I'm still looking forward to playing with it. :)
