Do you want to hear something that you may not expect?

...Let me know what you think of my music; I would love to hear from you ...

Uh, Jesse. I get a lot of things in life, often things others don't. I don't get it. You are right. I defninately didn't expect to hear that. That's gonna be a hard sell I fear. I would love to comment on the music, but I really can't muster anything. I swear I am looking to say something nice, but I don't get it. Sorry. At least I said something.

Hmmmm...Before I go further, let me ask a simple question. Are you happy with the way these tunes sound, or would you like to improve them?

Hello Everyone ...

Let me first thank you for your replies. I am in a continual state of evolution; in music and in life. I accept your opinions, and let me say that they are appreciated.
I have found that the only negative comments that I have received from the general public are from has-been musicians that never were, or half-rate players that are either jealous, or close-mided, and or both. The sound quality issues are DEFINATELY a relevant point; yet, to say "I just don't get it?" Come on now ...
It's is funny to see so many "clones" rip-off other artist's in a half-ass way, (you know who you are), and say that they are original, or great musicians. My music is in key and in time. If you don't like it fine; but to dismiss me as not worthy of your time or approval is ignorant in my point of view.
I would love to get some of you in the room with me for a jam session. I would do it on any instrument; and at any time if it was possible ... (yes, I play all the instruments in these recordings). I have a large amount of material, so don't judge me off of one or two songs. Try opening your mind sometime; it may help in your personal lives as well ...

Well, my post was a pretty straightforward question, and there's a reason I asked it. I've listened to stuff before that kinda' sounded like dogshit, and then when I tried to offer suggestions, the "artist" would post back with something like "I don't WANT it to sound like everything else." Fair enough...there's probably an entire universe of untapped fans for stuff that sounds like dogshit. I get the impression that you'd like to improve the sound quality, and for that, this place is (or can sometimes be) useful.

It's been a couple of days since I listened, and I will again, but the biggest problems that stuck out to me were the vocal sound/and level and the guitar tone. I thought the drums sounded decent.

I'll listen again if you care.

So thinking I had made some sort of mistake, I went back and listened again. Let me say, you most definately have some timing issues. Many times people who have issues with time, don't know it. That is why it is so elusive. If you play your song with a click track, you will see they most definately wander greatly. Next, there are pitch issues. The guitars sound like noise. Not really a recognizeable tone / pitch in many spots. Then you try to sing over them, and all ass breaks loose. This type of noise is great, for a small portion of the song, but when it goes on and on and on an well.... on, then it might suggest that you really are not as versed as your mouth tells evryone you are.

To challenge evryone that has taken the time to reply is great! It only furthers my understanding of how much like evryone else you really have become in your quest to achieve uniqueness. Based on your chops, anytime. If only I had 8 bucks for each time someone explained to me how different they are from everyone else.

Like I said, I don't get it. Maybe you could post a song that would warm us up to your stuff. Maybe it is a state of mind, that takes many years of methamphetamine... Doh uh ...I mean conditioning to achieve. Anyway, great job accepting the negative feedback.

Cheers

Puh...

I just listened.
I dont feel so good.
But that isnt all bad, to not feel all good.
I would like to here a version were you smile while singing, just to get even more drama.
You should consider to change git-sound, in my humble opinion.

OUch...

This is not the worst I've ever heard...but it's still very painful to listen to.

Timing is very whack...the mark of a true amateur..

Get over yourself guy.

It's not that I can't open my mind to your music, its that your music just sounds bad. You need to open your mind to the fact that your music, from a sonic perspecitive, is very unappealing.

I would like to distinguish two seprate issues. One- you don't like my music. That's cool, I have heard that before and most likely will again. Two- letting your own lack of talent, ambition, or creativity cloud your judgement to the point of delerium.

I use a click track for all of my of my recordings. Please refer me to the sections that are out of time ... I would really like to know. I have found that as a drummer, that many musicians are lost if you break from the standard 2/4 or 4/4 beat. Listen to some classical music, flamenco, or something that is not "western"; you will see that the "tempo" and the "time sigantures" are two different things. Time signatures often change within the tempo of complicated songs. If you don't understand that, then well, listen to a wider range of music. I do concede to the points raised about the sound issues. Although, the same argument could be made against any one of any famous and respected guitar players. I think it really depends on the genre, but that's my opinion. Is this my best or favorite guitar or bass sound? Hell no. I am limited by financial resources and do the best I can with what's available. That's no excuse; just the reality. Once again, you will find that I do a wide range of material; I'll post more soon ...

Oh, and as far as being intoxicated while playing; that's not my thing. You don't have to be high to be creative ...

At the risk of dogpiling on, lol...I have to comment on that line.

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

end of comment.

Don't mean to be cruel, but you wanted opinions...Since you're probably going around to every music forum you can find on the web to promote your tunes, you at least deserve honest feedback.

Perhaps your bias of your own material clouds your judgement on what "sounds good."

It's like a parent being unable to admit their baby is ugly...

Man... That gunshot hit the mark. Great analogy.

Okay ... for all of you slower kids ...

In case you hadn't noticed, I never made any direct statement about my opinion of my own music. I am an aquired taste no doubt. Often with an original artist, you either like it or you don't. I am original; that much I will say. I asked for your opinions and I appreciate them tremendously. But ... if you are insulting to me personally then you will find that I can do the same; times ten. I admit to, and discuss my sound issues. I responded defensively, and in a very descriptive manner, only when I was dismissed for foolish reasons.

What about my timing? ... I thought this was an issue. If you want to bash me on a technical level, then you better be able to back it up and show me where. It's funny that all of the sudden I am "childish" when I call you on your ignorance. Stick to your point; don't just start making sly and witty comments after you know you can't back up your argument.

Believe it or not, I really do value the input; and I do take it all into account, whether I like it or not. If I didn't care what people thought, I would just stay in my house and keep my music to myself, (like so many of you emotionally biased critic's).
