check out my mix please! looking for critics

hey all, I've been asking questions on this forum non stop for the past 2 weeks. Finally got the first mix down.

I would also like to say that some of you have been extremely helpful, thanks a bunch.

Got my equipment last Friday. Started recording Wednesday and Thursday night.

I'm looking for criticism about the recording quality , but comments on the song itself is also very welcome.

At first, before the waveform loaded on Soundcloud, it was just a solid block and I was thinking 'Man, they limited the crap out of this!'...
After it loaded, I was relieved and kind of embarrassed. A few things kind of jumped out. The kick seems very click-y but there isn't much more to it. There's no bottom. The guitar tone is nice. The vocals are crisp but need some kind of compression to level them out. The whole 'kit' save the snare and hat sounds kind of thin. Other than that stuff, it's very good. The song itself is very well put together. I like it very much. The melody kind of reminded me of some Army of Anyone songs.

hey man, thanks a lot for the comments.

i took your advice regarding the bass drum and the bass. i tried compressing the vocals but its a little difficult. the level he sings at in the verse is lower than in the chorus, however the instruments remain the same.

I think I'm gonna call him in to redo the verse, louder.
