OK, I'll figure that out. First off, the guy didn't know english so you can't entirely blame him for not finding the right forum. Secondly, he didn't post the same damn thing to 5 different forums. One misplaced post is forgiveable, but not spam...
 
Really, some people are hard to fathom.

Guys, in this "virtual world" we are using there is a thing referred to as "etiquette" which is kind of what is acceptable behaviour, whether on BBS, chatsites or general internet communication. I know this from being a moderator on what was regarded as the most effectively moderated chatsite on the web........(until Yahoo stuck the finger in the pie and replaced it with their apology of a chatsite).

Darth, the minute you cross posted, you stepped over that "acceptable" line..........kinda like putting a car for sale advert in every category of your newspapers' classifieds...........tends to make you look like a dickhead, which you probably aren't.

If you think you are hard done by with this "etiquette" thing, I can show you an awesome music related website you wouldn't believe..........their rules seem to be extreme, but they are like that for a reason and it works! There is no "agro", rarely any inappropraite posts and the assistance and advice makes HR.com look pretty ordinary, something it isn't. HR.com is likely the best homewreckers site on the web, but like everywhere in life there are standards to follow.

Now stop acting like a goose and go record something.

The way I look at it: if you don't like the subject line, pass by it. Don't even deal with it. Why take your time to to tell somebody that they are wasting your time? It kind of defeats the purpose, right?

Point being, I'm sorry for breaking the incredibly strict rules, and I won't do it again, I promise.

I want to be welcomed here, and I'm doing my best to learn the standards. There seems to be some really exceptional people here, and I'd really like to talk with them more.

Because some of us appreciate this place and don't want to see it degrade into the kind of crap that people like you would turn it into, given the chance.

You want constructive criticism on a song? We've got a place for that. You want to spam the forums to get a couple more downloads? Hmmm, well you see what happens.

Honestly, we're a comparatively easy-going bunch of people and the rules are fairly loose. I don't think its too much to ask that you not crosspost/spam. If you can't handle that then I think you'd better buy your own island in the South Pacific because there's no way you'll be able to deal with any civilized society I'm familiar with.

Trust me, banging drums and running naked through the woods at that Robert Bly men's weekend ain't gonna do it for you. ;)

About the posting in several places - I agree there must be some protocol but there should also be some tact in telling you about it. For instance, I noticed Blue Bear gave it to you you straight without insulting you. He was firm but fair. It's the other dickheads I have a problem with who insist on showing their ass while accusing you of spamming when all you might have done is just fuck up and used bad judgement. Those are the ones who don't want newbies around their little farmland and take the fact that you fucked up as an opportunity to try to run you off. Fuck 'em. Don't go anywhere. Stay here, abide by the rules, and joke 'em if they can't take fuck.

You are exactly right, Mojo. Thank you for understanding. I have learned what to not do here, and I won't do it again. Someone accused me of cross posting to get more downloads, I assume that he means from MP3.com or some other service that has ratings, but I'm not being rated on how many downloads I get. I am simply wanting reviews/opinions.

I agree that there should be a more cordial way of letting new people know when they fuck up. Let's try to work on that, right?

I don't see Bear even making a comment directed at Darth...........maybe you have a post that I don't, but seeing you regard me as a dickhead then anything is possible. And if cross-posting for whatever reason can be classed as spamming, then their accusations are accurate.

I visit a lot of forums, and I'm just sick of seeing newbies get slammed in the guise of protocol when the underlying reason is really just that someone doesn't like their little fraternity "invaded." Please forgive my rant, but I'm getting rather sick of it.
