Check Mix on Consumer 2.1 Speaker

In the ideal world you should be able to trust your ears, monitors, environment etc but in the real world, yeah...It does no harm to check on a variety of playback systems.
Whether your specific speakers are worth checking on I don't know, but I do tend to check on a decent hifi and a bose iPod dock when I think I'm happy with something.

To be honest it's usually more for confirmation than anything.

In fact, you'll just bounced the mix as MP3 to check on those consumer devices? Or connected those speakers as a second and third pair of speakers other than the Main Studio Monitor for check during the mix?

The term "2.1 consumer speaker" isn't very specific. My home theater system in stereo mode with the sub on is 2.1. The Logitech speakers on my computer are 2.1. I don't use the Logitech speakers for anything critical, including checking mixes.

Seriously? Why?

So I could see how they translate. Monitor pair 1 is Focal Sm9's, Monitor Pair 2 is 4328's, and monitor pair 3 is gutted macbook speakers attached to a Zaxbys cup. The cup is awesome. Simply punch holes where you want to hide the cables. The 1/4" connector runs out the back and into mini amp. The macbook doesn't sit very nicely on the top of the mixer. The cup does.

There's actually 3 mini speakers inside the macbook. The two on outsides are stereo LR and the center one is a sub.
