how about these mixers

i'm looking at getting a new console.
i ran across 2 phonic consoles i know i can get locally....

Phonic MR4243
OR
Phonic MR4283D

what do you think? resarching so far they seem to be some nice consoles... i liked the MR4283d for the s/pdif, the 8 bus,built on meter bridge and built in talk back mic ... i was thinking about the MR4243 for more channels/inputs.... it doesn't have s/pdif...it has a 4bus..and it still has a talk back mic built in the console...

Phonic? I know they make some stuff, but I never thought this had to be taken serious. It one of those brands that make me smile when somebody mentions them....like.....oh well...I'm not even going to bother to start this discussion.
 
Before you start flaming me, I ment that I always thought it was this sort of brand. I know they have cheap stuff. I don't know if it's any good. I might as well be (for the price)
 
how much does the board cost....it "LOOKS" nice...and specs mean shit manufacturers love lying or use white noise for their test...so when u put in REAL music the specs are thrown out the door....for ex. see any and all prosumer soundcards

Hey, I've seen that before. I always wondered what it ment. i guess it has something to do with a game or so? I myself don't play games.

Actually I play games with myself, but that's another thread itself
 
both mixers are 800 to 1000 i think... i can go to the store and test them.. i know 2 ppl that have the 4283(not the 4283d) and the board is very quiet... the pres are real clean with all of his mics... one of my friends also has the phonic monitors and he said they aren't mackies, but they serpass the behringers and 20/20bas's......
i know phonic made some small stuff that mars sells but i didn't know about this stuff... they have a lot of products i never knew they made....

so whats up? what other console will offer what these can in the price range... i was gonna get a Mackie d8b, but i have to wait a while
 
At those prices I would really consider a Mackie or Soundcraft.

"all your base belong to us" was a bad translation from some japanese video game, I can't remember what game. It is a good geek test, oops, I just passed ;)

even used you can 't get a 24-32ch mackie for 800-1000...the tascam i have now sounds much better than the vlz mackies.
soundcraft either, and they won't even have the features the phonic has...
 
i'm in the middle of doing some research right now on phonic... they make good products... i fouud reviews from 1994 on phonic mixers when they were a real small company, and ppl liked the mixer...
i looked on http://www.sospubs.co.uk/search/query.asp and found a phonic 24ch mixer, not really a recording console type mixer but still they didn't have anything bad to say about that mixer but:
-No EQ bypass button
-External PSU

the model is the Phonic MR2443 no, its not even up there with the 2 i'm looking at.i found a review on the mr3243, and it passed with flying colors...
i'm gonna keep doing some reserch.. i don't plan on buying a new console until july
