I just got done recording and filming my first all direct recording (playing every instrument) video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xtWzVHdvOU&fmt=18

I used a Roland TD-12 with BFD 1.5 Deluxe Collection, Mark IV with Tubescreamer, PDI-03, A-Designs Pacifica, Sansamp Bass driver, etc. I'm posting all the settings on my website: www.ExtremeProducer.com if you guys are interested.

This is a rough mix, I haven't done much editing and I'm still working on the vocals so hopefully it will get better from here. I'll appreciate your feedback.

I'm confused about the name of the thread... What does Rock Band 3 have to do with anything?

Mostly, it sounds pretty good. YouTube's compression squeezed a lot of the quality out (so your cymbals sound pretty bad), but there's not much you can do about that besides hosting the song somewhere else.

The vox should probably come up and be panned closer to the center.

It sounded like the keyboard might have had trouble staying on tempo in the beginning.

Really, to get good feedback, you'll need to post it somewhere where it won't get compressed to heck and back.

yes, you are right about the keyboard at the beginning. I'm actually redoing this whole thing with Joe Barresi's drums which are the absolute bad a$$ and I will tighten things up like getting the keyboard in place and actually doing some mixing. Like I said there's not a lot of editing and the drums are a bit out of sync as well because of some latency I didn't take the time to fix.

There's Blip.TV where you can upload same quality video files but then YouTube is where everyone goes so it is a give and take. Well, I'll get to that once I tighten things up. I'll post another link here then.

I called it the ultimate rock band because I truly believe in the future people will be able to get an all direct recording package with real guitars, bass, and v-drums where kids are going to jam and record direct, all with preset mix settings depending what artist you want to sound like.

Jeez that would be awful. Like music doesn't doesn't suck bad enough right now already.

Your song and video is okay. It's kind of annoying watching a crappy youtube video. Most of us already know what it looks like to record at home. :D

Can you post a high quality version of just the song?

While that is true, if you're going to give people a direct link, you might as well give them a link to the better quality option. Sure, keep the YouTube version up, but refer us to the good version. :D
