Is this new? Behringer MIC100. A $40 pre w/ a tube? So, who did they rip off to come up this? Here is a description....
Behringer MIC100
With the TUBE ULTRAGAIN MIC100, Behringer unveils their tube-based sound-enhancing tool for studio, live and hard disk recording applications. With its hand-selected 12AX7 vacuum tube featuring UTC technology for increased warmth and low noise, the MIC100 is intended to complement studio-grade condenser mics. It can also be used as a general DI-box.

I almost want to buy this pre just to see how bad it sounds.

Uhhhhh, $40!!!???

I don't think so!

Save your dead-prezident's and buy a DMP!!

That's of course a "fake tube" design that a lot of manufacturers are producing. You're not getting an all tube preamp for $40.

That said I like the ART Tube MP which is a similar design but about $80. The behringer might be alright, never know till you try.

To answer some of the above, and in no way am I defending those bastards but.... Well, I own a DMP3 and it's great.
This thing clains to have a 12AX7. I'd like to know how bad the thing sounds too but at $40.
My mother always said if it sounds to good to be then it isn't
Someone got an exta $40 to try this thing out?

Aside from the visible surface features, are there any appreciable differences between the TubeMP, the OPL, the TubeMP Studio, and the StudioV3?
