Ok, please have mercy. I have to buy things one at a time, one of the things is on the list, but it might be a while before I get to it....good acoustic treatment. I can only afford the cheap egg stuff and some really dense foam I found at work right now 15x9x2 chunks. So for the mean time, with what I have to work with; in a closet 58"x60"x88" (for vox mostly)
1. what areas of this room should I concentrate on, corners, ceiling, etc.
2. And where should I put this stuff. Should I coat the whole wall in egg crate and put the dense stuff in the corners?
3. And should I make bass traps, or is the space to small.

This is the stuff I need to know, and any other advice. Any resources, I thank you all in advance.

Forget the "egg stuff" - that won't do shit..... don't even bother.

The dense foam *might* be useful, depending on its properties, but without actually knowing what the sonic issues in the room are, there's no way to decide how to place it. You have to know what the acoustic problems are before you can solve them........

And remember if you cant afford to do it right the 1st time what makes you think you can afford to fix the mistakes. :)

So when thinking CHEAP, think targeted. :)

guess I'll experiment with the dense stuff. But what about building my own bass traps. Are they designed more for big rooms?

pretty much the only thing that will work in a closet is thick 703 or some 705 across the corners
