Cheapest Brand New mic you've ever bought?

Yeah, Russian. It was actually a pair of MC-012, with cardioid and hypercardiod capsules, from the Soundroom. Decent mics, but I don't use them much.

the cheapest brand new mic was the SE Electronics z3300A, which does a wonderful job as a bass spot mic. 500 bucks..

also the MXL v6, which is my go to Saxophone microphone, 300 bucks. and Audio technica 4050--400 bucks



they do well beside my schoeps, dpa, gefells, akgs, coles, and royers. wouldnt trade them for anything.

Not really. I still use one for live gigging on occassion as as backup mic for the Gefell I normally use.

also the hummer h1 alpha, which is my go to off-road vehicle, 130,000 bucks. and range rover 80,000 bucks



they do well beside my bentley, rolls, maserati, lamborghini, ferrari, and bugatti. wouldnt trade them for anything.
 
MSH1-0, MSH4 - $19 and $60 respectively

Also OK: ECM8000, MXL603s, V67... all under $100

My sister's fiance gave me two EV omni mics. His dad was a judge, so somehow he absconded them from a courtroom some time back.

Man, that's a lot of money that could have been spent on gear :(
 
the cheapest mic i ever got new was a Nady SP-9, $20 or something.. too bad it sucks. i let this asshole drummer i play with sing with it.

the only other mics i ever bought new was an AKG c430 pair, for $200. i havent bought any other new mics ever.

come to think of it, i dont buy much new stuff. i hate having to lose money when it comes to resale.

i did buy audix ADX-90 mini condesnor craps, but they were so bad i returned both of them.. they were $69 each i think.

Geez....now you got me wanting to try one of those Naiant MSH10's. Looks pretty interesting, and frankly, for the price can you go wrong? The acoustic guitar samples I heard were darn sweet. Too bad you can't order it right now as they are out of stock currently. Oh well....I'll give it a few days adn see if I'm still hot to try one........ :rolleyes:

The cheapest mics I have seen are 2 for a dollar at the Dollar store and they are Computer Mics useing electret capsules....
I have bought a few of them to scavenge the Capsules from...

They also sell Cheapo dynamics for about $3 and they also sell these really small Mic & preamp dealies for $1 that has a Built in Mic and has a small Battery and has a 1/8 in Output and comes with Headphones...
They sound Awefull but give a really neat distorted effect when you use them for Vocals ,Sort of sounds like a Robitic Monster....They are also usefull as Listening devices for hearing things at a distance....

I wouldn"t use any of them for serious recordings though....
