Are they worth it? Im looking to spend about 100 pounds on a nice single preamp. Shall I bother? Any recomendations? The inbuilt preamps on my mixer are a bit shite. Cheers, Pete.

I have a Mackie mixer, which isn't too bad for the pre's, but my VTB (I paid like, $50 in the free ads area), and it is better than those pre's. I would suggest getting a single one, learning how they work in comparison to the inbuilt ones, and eventually upgrade to whatever "big" preamp you want to buy in the distant future. I'd recommend the VTB-1, I like it better than my Presonus Bluetube 2 channel pre, or any other cheap preamp I've used in the past.peeteerrr said:
