Bring Back Transfat!
I just recieved 2 256meg sticks of PC133 for $28/ea plus a few bucks for FedX next day. Cheap generic stuff, no doutb manufactured in one of those evil places we've been yacking about lately.

I'm not launching a debate on the quality of different memory here. I'm just giving these guys a plug because they're new and took good care of me. I've had these two sticks in this machine for a day now and nothing's caught fire yet!

I notice that they don't have DDR memory listed. I need to buy some, so it looks like Crucial.Com for me, I guess.

What sort of a CPU are you using? I got the generic memory lecture form a couple of techs at Fry's and the opinion seems to be that 1GHz -> will usually choke on bargain memory. I'm curious as to your experience.

I'm also wondering if there's some sort of memory shake-down program out there for testing memory. There used to be tons of this sort of thing in the old days, but I haven't been paying attention in recent years.

Good luck, and let us know how it works out.
