I'm new to digital home recording and am looking at purchasing a audio interface. I've a budget of under £100 and was wondering if anyone can recommend to me what the best interface would be for the budget I have. I've been looking at the Alesis IO2 Express? Is there a better interface I could get for the money?

Cheers

What specifications do you need on your interface? How many instruments/mics do you want to be able to record at a time?

Well I'm not entirely sure of what specifications I need, but I need an interface capable of recording at least two instruments simultaneously, either one mic / one instrument or two mics or two instruments etc. I understand the Alesis Express has phantom power which would be very useful. Other than that I'm not wildly sure what else I really need.

I just revently upgraded from the big brother of this Lexicon Alpha and had good result with it if you get a chance tho try work out how many in's and out's you'll need, for instance will you be recording instruments in stereo? bands live? full drum kits, or just one man one mic sorta deals

What Operating System are you using? Tascam US-800 is on sale everywhere for $100US, but I heard it doesn't work with Windows 7. M Audio Fast Track Pro is within your range.
