changing up the beat

I have a question if anybody can help thanks

how do producers recreate a beat
what I mean is they take a beat that was already made and change the instruments but the rythm is still the same
man I hope I explained that right
 
just play it over. If you know how to play its not hard. and ya a triton is good.
 
i believe what you are talking about can be done with midi. you'd have to use a sequencer (cubase, logic, or the triton's internal sequencer if it has one) and record the MIDI notes, in other words record your beat. use a preset on the triton where every key plays different drums, then if you wanted to change to different drums, you'd just select another preset.

i have no idea if that makes any sense or not, but i hope it helps anyway!
