Changing Sound Cards From a DMan PCI to a MOTU 2408

I have a question. What are yall's opinion about the MOTU 2408? And Also, Id like to get yalls opinion about my studio setup, and do I possibly have enough equipment to open up on a professional level. For the home studio projests I've done, the 2 channel sound card was fine, but If I go professional, More inputs most likely will be needed. Thus the need for a multi channel card as the 2408. Besides, Ive heard that the TDIF output works well with Tascam Digital Mixers. Plus a local Music store is selling it to me for $599.99 I've been recording since I was 18, now im 26. I have a totally cool wife who supports my endeavours to start my own business (I think she just wants me to make a return on the investment I've made in equipment)

Please be honest if you think I need more modules, or anything else.

Your setup sounds good. One recommendation: GET ANOTHER HARD DRIVE! And make it at least 8 Gig.

I dig the MOTU. Great unit. Dito on the bigger drive though. You'll fill that one quik (especially at 24/96).

MOTU

On the MOTU, a friend of mine has it and I have used it on several occasions, I think it's a solid piece of gear, it's given me excellent results.

But like I said a bigger hard drive will be essential, forget 8 gig, make it like 20gig coz audio at 24/96 does take up large amounts of disk space.

And tell the wife to learn how to use the equipment... hehehehe
