I would like to change the latency setting on my firebox from 2.5 to a lesser one. When I do that, I hear pops and stuff when I play. Also I get errors sometimes in cubase LE. Does that mean 2.5 is the best I can do?

probably. there are things you can do to optimize your computer for recording (like turning off virus software, and closing down any background processes you don't need), which may help a little. it's not likely a problem with the software or presonus, but rather with the processing power of your computer.

A latency of 2.5 also seems to be the magic number for me. Anything lower and I get crackles. At 2.5 I notice no lag at all (I mean I'm sure it's there, but a human can't tell). I've recorded 15 instruments to a song and they are all in perfect sync.
