Hi.

I absolute love my BR-8, I bought it for a couple of months ago.
But I have'nt figure it out how I change the effect on ect. a guitarsound when i've already recorded it ?
Can I change the effect without having the original effect "at the bottom", if you see what I mean...

Insert effects:

If you're going to be changing effects after you've layed the track down you'll want to record it dry or with just a little effect. The effect you choose when tracking is "layed to tape" so it can not be altered after the fact, it's part of the track. The BR-8 has a handy function called Insert effect, which allows you to add effects after you're recorded tracks. The only drawback is that you can only use 1 effect for 1 track or 1 stereo track. You can access this from the menu screen, just go the effects section and choose insert effect. Hope this helps.

The insert effect

The method you're asking about is the same that I use to "test" different effects for determining the best one for a song. Vis:

In the Utility menu, you can scroll across to an icon that looks like a guitar pedal. after selecting this icon, use the dial to rotate the selection from insert mode to 'rec dry'. this will allow you to record the dry sound coming into the unit while a default effect is applied only to the headphone output for 'monitoring' purposes.

After the passage is recorded, go back to the same icon from the utility menu and use the dial knob to then scroll thru the selections '1,2,3,etc. , 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, etc. that match the tracks that you just recorded on.

Let's say you recorded a guitar part on track 1.

after it's recorded dry (from the first step above) go back to the same icon and select the "1" from the scroll selections.

hit exit a few times to get back to the meter screen, and then, as the passage is played back, hit the 'effects' button and scroll thru to hear the different effects as applied to your dry sound.

If this sounds too confusing, try reviewing the technique on page 89 of the manual, it describes this all in detail.

best of luck.
