i have a tascam 424
a dod rack mount eq
a boss half rack comp/limiter and an
alesis microverb.
where does my guitar/mic get plugged into first
and what gets connected to what?
does my guitar/mic get plugged into the comp/limiter and the comp/limiter into the 424 mic input?
i need help....

Your mic will need to be plugged into a mixer or preamp. You should be able to use the 424. So plugging the mic straight into that is your only option for now.

The guitar signal is a little more flexible but you dont really have any guitar specific effects boxes so you might as well just record the guitar direct into the 424 also. You might get away with plugging it into the nanoverb then the compressor or EQ but that is probably overkill. Play with it and see what you like.

Use the Nanoverb in an effects loop with the Aux out. Use the compressor or EQ if you want to compress your master outs or bounce track(s) out of the 4track and back in with compression or EQ.

If you have channel inserts you can use the compressor or EQ there on specific channels. You may not have those.

A good mixer would give you more flexibility with your setup.
