Cell phone DAW

So, I've been thinking about this: Would it be possible to make a call phone DAW?

I saw there is a midi interface: http://gizmodo.com/5498382/line-6-iphone-peripheral-is-for-midi-masters-on+the+go

How about an auio interface?

Would this be possible or desireable?

The iphone has 4 track recorders and even an 8 track recorder. I don't think they're managed to have audio and MIDI together, though.
