I'm looking at buying a 788 in a month or two, I saw a cdrw788 on clearance for $300 at mars the other day, is the dedicated 788 cdburner worth it or is there a cheaper option that is compatable with the 788 that stores data and burns cd's?

Nothing else will back up all your tracks. I don't own one however, I just use the S/PDIF out for stereo mixes to the computer and dump everything. That's a good price if you're going to get a 788.

Cool, I offered em $250.00 last night & they did it, it was new and I guess they're were trying to get rid of their inventory it was the last one, they also didnt have any 788's in until maybe the first week of feb., I'mm guessing probably something to do with that new 2.0 version?? anyway good price, but I'll just look at it till I can get the 788.
