I, altho a newbie, have been playing and performing 'out',since 1963. At this time, I am just getting around to digital recording, and have the need to permenantly put down some of the sound I am now making. The axe is one I purchased new in 1967, and since my on again, off again, romance with the entertainment business, (Now as a union stagehand for the income.)I am beginning to feel the effects of age, and the pressure to do something before it's too late is looming. My voice is still very strong, but arms, and fingers are on their way out. The instrument of mine is a woderous thing a 12-string Martin, that at the time of purchase was the top of the line, other than custom. I am very lucky to own it!
The rest of my 'rig' is still kind of taking shape, I have
a vintage 1969 'Univox' tube amp, 50 watts, 2/12s cabinet, and am plugging thru a DOD GS-30 digital modeling pedal. the sound is totally amazing, and equal to much I hear on the radio.
My whole point is with the comp. CD you are talking about here, if you put limits on submissions with things like length of membership, number of posts, etc. it would leave someone like myself, out in the cold. I think a deadline is essential, but the other limitations should be only that it is 'good enuf' to be included. This could be as simple as a vote by members.
It is still, only an idea...............
Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention, there is nothing that says it has to be a single CD release.....Could be a double?
that way nobody gets left out. Or it could be an annual thing??
