CD sampling/slowing software?

Peavey ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone know of a program that you can use to playback a section of CD audio at half speed to help pick out the notes? Preferably at regular pitch.

I'm looking for freeware or inexpensive stuff, but any suggestion for where to look is greatly appreciated. I know, I could just use my DAW, but I'm looking for my girlfriend's relative and was hoping to find something simple for him to use.

Wow. No bites? Not an exciting enough subject for only 10 people to look at? :D

Ah, well.

I don't even know what to call a program that slows songs down so they can be easily learned. Hard to do a net search without a handle to start with.

Anyone? Anyone? Bueler? Bueler?

Maybe I should have posted this in newbies.
