CD-RW5000 question

Does anyone here own the CD-RW5000? If so, have you been able to record on 80 minute/700MB blank cd's? If so which brands?

We discussed this last year in this forum but a difinitive answer was never reached. I even e-mailed tascam. They took a week to respond then replied with a non-commital answer: "The unit hasn't been tested for 80 min./700MB cd's". Yeah right, like not one tech at tascam has ever tried it to see if it would work.

Did you know that some of the "free" tech calls one might make may go to India or some other part of the world where techies abound? Strange world.

Can't answer your question but I've just ordered the Yamaha AW2816 and it has the CDRW burner built in. This is a new product from NAMM. You can check it out by punching up Yamaha on the net.

So, what the hell, use a 74 miniute CD?
