CD-R question

On most CD-Rs, if there's a "precautions" section on the box or jewel case it will say "Do not attach labels to either side of the disc."

It's obvious why not to attach it to the record side, but why does it matter on the other side? How can a label hurt it? And if labels can hurt CD-Rs, why do companies like Avery and Neato manufacture CD labels?

Just curious.

I think it's just a warning that if you put the label on and its not centered correctly or has air bubbles it can create a balance problem when its spinning.

That, and have you ever seen what happens when a cheapo cdr label starts to peel inside your CD Player? ... especially one of them slot loading ones?..... brutal!...

Sharpie markers work best for me...

If im releasing something and expecting people to give me money for it , it gets properly screenprinted...
