anyone know of any good strictly mastering software that does everything from normalizing all of your tracks to the same levels to burning the cd ?

thanks

Give Sonic Foundry's Siren beta a spin!
A great player complete with light show.
Free for the moment to demo. And it burns to audio CD from both mp3 and other audio CDs and supposedly .wav as well. It plays all 3.
But I think the convenience of CD burning within the production environment is overstated. All versions/ tracks/mixes are generated by your production software. When you've collected all the tracks you want to burn, starting up that software and defining a play order isn't that big a deal.

well...what im nervous about is that once you line all your tracks up to be burned with an outside program , the volumes will be all different...but isnt that what normalizing is for ? make all tracks peak at the same db ? im probably overly concerned...

ps.. i downloaded the siren beta , but i get a " your cd burner may be incompatible with this software program " or some thing like that upon start up... oh yeah , and drstawl , do you work for sonic foundry or something ? you promote everything they make... hehe.. :D...

Naw- No relation. But they have written some software that doesn't crash my computer. And is really fun to use. Anybody shopping for stuff that does this has nothing to lose by checking out the FREE demos. Unlike other S/W makers with less than useful uninstall programs. I haven't bought Siren, because I use EZ-CD Creator and Music Match to fill this niche, but I plunked my own bread down on Vegas Pro and Sound Forge 4.5.
Yup, you guessed it:
no distributor discount! :)

i know what you mean...vegas pro runs GREAT on my crapaq presario , so to me its worth the extra hundred bucks , not too mention its so easy to use... i cant wait untill i have a REAL computer to run it on , but my dream computer building plans have been put on hold by the recent ( almost ) double in memory prices.. :(

I'm inclined to believe that S/W that runs without a lot of &#%$ing around is a very powerful indication that the authors really understood how to program within the Windows environment. Which is really important when your multi-track editor is running inside this environment. Programs can and do run in the x86 environment without a problem while not being able to co-exist with this O/S.

I hate to sound "ghetto" again but as far as normalinzing goes, check the free version of "audio grabber" the link is on this site somewhere! but it will normalize an unlimited batch of wavs and all your levels will be right, as far as being nervous about using different programs to do all these different tasks, consider this quote "use the right tool for the job" and some programs just aren't capable of doing everything at an optimum level! anyway like I said about normalizing GET AUDIO GRABBER its sooo simple just load your wavs and hit the normalize button, it doesnt get any better than that. peace
