CD drive for VF-80/160 - alternatives to CD-1A

The CD drive for the VF-80/160 (CD-1A) is difficult to find and extremely expensive. Does anythong know of other CD drives that can be used on these machines? I know this issue has been raised before, but I've researched this forum and haven't found a conclusive answer. Appreciate any insight from others who have tried other options!
 
My machine did not come with the drive, and I'm looking to add one.
