CD Burner - help please - urgent!

Help!
My burner is on the fritz. All recordings suddenly sound slightly distorted, and not in a good way.
If I need to purchase a new burner, what's a good one to get?

I own a Plextor...pretty solid! I also hear good things about Yamaha and TDK. Those are on the pricey side for burners. If you need a decent budget burner, go for either Aopen or LiteOn. They also get some good reviews.
